1. High guidance accuracy
Guiding accuracy refers to the accuracy of the line and the mutual position between the moving parts of the lathe and the relevant base surface when moving along the guide rail. No matter in the no-load or cutting the workpiece, the guide rail should have sufficient guiding accuracy, which is the basic requirement for the guide rail. The main reason affecting the accuracy of the guide rail is not only the manufacturing accuracy, but also the structural form of the guide rail, the assembly quality, the rigidity and thermal deformation of the guide rail and its support, and the rigidity of the oil film for the hydrostatic guide rail.
2. Wear resistance is better
The wear resistance of the guide rail refers to the ability of the guide rail to maintain a certain guiding accuracy during long-term use. CNC lathe because of the guide rail in the work process inevitably wear, so should strive to reduce the amount of wear, and after wear can automatically compensate or facilitate adjustment. CNC lathes often use small friction coefficient of the rolling guide rail and static pressure guide rail, in order to reduce the wear of the guide rail.

3. Have sufficient rigidity
The deformation of the guide rail will affect the guiding accuracy and relative position between the components. Therefore, the guide rail is required to have sufficient degree. In order to reduce or balance the impact of external forces, CNC lathes often use to increase the size of the guide rail surface or lick plus auxiliary guide rail method to improve stiffness.
4. Low speed movement stability
To make the friction resistance of the guide rail is small, the movement is light, and there is no crawling phenomenon when moving at low speed.
5. Simple structure, good process
The manufacture and maintenance of the guide rail should be convenient, and it is easy to adjust and maintain when in use.
