Step is to decode all the different abbreviations and numbers to understand what you have so you can compare.
Using different standards can complicate this task. And some of the abbreviations and numbers used in some oil mixers are not standard at all. So, look at the various oils mentioned above:
R & O or RO stands for rust and oxidation. These are hydraulic fluids with improved rust and oxidation resistance. The ISO classification of these oils is HL.
AW stands for abrasion resistance. These are RO hydraulic oils with antiwear additive packages. The ISO classification of these oils is HM.
MV stands for polyviscosity. As far as I know, this is not a standard abbreviation. In theory, MG (multi-grade),MW (multi-grade weight) or HVI (high viscosity index) can all be used to represent the same thing. In any case, these oils contain viscosity index improvers to improve the rate of viscosity change with temperature. ISO category VI improved RO oil is HR, while VI is AW improved oil is HV.
Now to the numbers. 22, 46 and 315 refer to the viscosity grade (VG) of the hydraulic oil. 22 and 46 are ISO standard grades. These figures refer to the kinematic viscosity (cist) of the oil at 40 degrees Celsius, plus or minus 10%. Therefore, the viscosity of ISO VG46 oil at 40°C is between 41.4 and 50.6 centist. 315 is the now obsolete ASTM viscosity value -315 SUS at 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which is approximately equal to ISO VG68.
As you can see now, there are three different viscosity grades of RO and AW hydraulic oils, one of which is high VI. On the surface, my intuition is that an oil (probably AW-46) can cover his entire fleet. But to confirm this, each hydraulic equipment needs to be evaluated individually.
After completing this operation and selecting the appropriate type and grade of hydraulic oil, the next issue to consider is how to replace the equipment with standard oil. The first thing to understand is that you won't get any peace of mind from the oil companies. It is unlikely that any oil blender will tell you that you can mix its oil with a competitor. And for good reason. When mixing motor oils with different additive chemistries, there is always a risk of the additive "falling.
At least, when changing the oil, the oil should be completely drained and the filter should be replaced. But unless it is practical or possible to drain every part of the system, a small part of the original hydraulic oil will remain and mix with the new oil.
Therefore, before switching, it is best to mix equal amounts of original oil and new oil in a glass jar and shake it vigorously. Wait for half an hour and then observe the solution. Look for changes in color, transparency, viscosity and deposits. If you have any questions, or make you more worry-free, please filter 100 ml of old, new and mixed oil through a patch filter and write down the time of each. If no abnormality is found, it should be carried out safely.
Note that mixing hydraulic oil without taking these simple precautions can be a costly mistake.
